Canada Raises Study Permit Financial Requirements β Are You Ready?
π’ Important update for international students: Starting September 1, 2025, Canada has increased the minimum required funds for study permit applicants.
What Has Changed?
Single Applicant: Now needs to demonstrate CAD $22,895βan increase of $2,260 from the previous requirement
Family Applicants: The required amount also increases significantlyβfor example, a family of four now needs CAD $42,543
These changes reflect the rising cost of living in Canada and aim to ensure that students and their families can support themselves during their stay.
How This Affects You
Ensure your application meets the new funding threshold to avoid delays or refusals
If dependent family members are applying with you, youβll need to show higher combined funds
