Cathy and Mollie enjoyed a lovely sunny morning at Rotherham Golf Club today for the Handelsbanken Economic Outlook Breakfast. ☕📈

A really interesting opportunity to hear from Daniel Mahoney, UK Chief Economist at Handelsbanken, and Paul Henthorn, Client Director at Handelsbanken Wealth, discussing the upcoming Autumn Statement and its potential impact on the economy and businesses.

Always valuable to hear informed perspectives on what's ahead, particularly for the property sector and our clients.

We had a fantastic night at the Yorkshire Legal Awards 2026!

Although we didn't take home an award this time, we're incredibly proud to have been shortlisted in both the Commercial and Residential Property categories.

A brilliant achievement for BOTH our teams to be recognised alongside some of Yorkshire's finest law firms! 💙

🎉 Happy 5-year anniversary, Candice! 💙

Another milestone to celebrate this week as it’s officially five years since Candice joined Mason Thomas Law!

Five years of hard work, plenty of laughs, lots of property transactions and becoming a hugely valued part of the team.

And after recently welcoming her back from maternity leave, it feels particularly lovely to be celebrating this milestone together again.

20 years… time flies when you are having fun!! 🎓

This month marks 20 years since Cathy qualified as a solicitor and quite a lot has changed since then!

From the early days of her legal career to establishing Mason Thomas Law in 2019 and building the award-winning specialist property firm we are today, it’s been quite the journey. 💙

The legal profession has changed enormously over those two decades too, technology, client expectations, ways of working… although Cathy doesn’t seem to have changed a bit!

We’ll be sharing more from Cathy as she looks back at 20 years in law: then and now, what she’s learned along the way and what she thinks the next chapter might hold.

A recent article highlights the devastating impact of so-called “Friday afternoon fraud”, where criminals impersonate solicitors or estate agents and provide fraudulent bank details, hoping to intercept deposits or completion funds.

With significant sums of money changing hands during a property transaction, one convincing email can have devastating consequences.

It’s why you’ll see this warning on every email we send:
"PLEASE BE CYBER AWARE
We will NEVER tell you of changes to our bank details nor will we accept changes to your bank details by e-mail…"

If you were ever to receive an email that appears to be from us telling you that our bank details have changed – do not transfer any money.

If anything looks unusual, urgent or simply doesn’t feel right, stop and call us using a telephone number you know and trust to verify the information.

Please protect yourself and your money, and consider sharing this warning with anyone you know who is currently buying or selling a property.
