This morning, Amy Arnold, Solicitor in our Whitby office, oversaw the planting of the Penny Hedge in her capacity of Seneschal to the Manor of Fyling Court Leet. Alongside her is Bailiff to the Manor of Fyling Lol Hodgson and horn blower Tim Osbourne.

According to local legend, a hedge woven from hazel must be placed in the estuary before 9am on Ascension Eve. The hedge should be strong enough to withstand three tides.
