Summer often brings families together — weddings, holidays, birthdays and celebrations.

It’s also a natural time to reflect on the future and the people who matter most.

If you already have a Will or LPA in place, this could be the perfect time for a review.

Many people don’t realise that Lasting Powers of Attorney must be registered before they can be used.

Registering them early means they are ready if ever needed, rather than adding stress during a difficult situation later.

Planning ahead today can make life much easier for your family tomorrow.

“I don’t have enough assets to need a Will.”

This is something we hear often — but a Will is about far more than wealth.

A Will helps decide:

• who administers your estate
• who inherits your belongings
• guardians for children
• funeral wishes
• how personal items are distributed

Without a Will, the law decides — and that may not reflect what you would have wanted.

Choosing attorneys for your Lasting Powers of Attorney is an important decision.

Your attorneys should be people you trust to act carefully, responsibly and in your best interests.

Many people choose:

• a spouse or partner
• adult children
• close relatives
• trusted friends

The most important thing is choosing people who understand your wishes and values.

One of the most common things families say after losing a loved one is:

“We just didn’t know what they wanted.”

A clear, professionally prepared Will can remove uncertainty and reduce stress during an already difficult time.

Sometimes the greatest kindness we can leave behind is clarity.

Life changes — and your Will should change with it.

You may need to review your Will if you have:

• married or divorced
• had children or grandchildren
• moved house
• lost a loved one
• started a business
• changed financial circumstances

Reviewing your Will every few years helps ensure it still reflects your wishes today — not your circumstances from years ago.

A Lasting Power of Attorney allows someone you trust to help make decisions if illness, injury or loss of capacity means you are unable to do so yourself.

Many people assume LPAs are only for the elderly. In reality, incapacity can affect anyone at any stage of life.

Putting LPAs in place early gives reassurance for the future — whatever life may bring.

Did you know that marriage automatically revokes an existing Will in England and Wales unless it was written in contemplation of that marriage?

With wedding season underway, many couples are unknowingly left without a valid Will after they marry.

A simple review can make sure your wishes remain protected.

A professionally written Will is one of the most important documents you will ever sign.

Yet many people delay writing one because life feels “too busy” or because it’s something they believe can wait.

The reality is that having a valid Will in place gives clarity, protection and peace of mind to the people you care about most.

It’s not only about money or property — it’s about making your wishes clear when your family may need guidance the most.

🧑🏽‍🤝‍🧑🏻Friends are the family you choose for yourself… but sadly, the law doesn’t always agree.

If you’d want your best friend, partner, godchild or favourite niece to benefit, a Will is the only way to make that happen.

Because ‘they know what I’d have wanted’ isn’t a legal document. 😅
