Just finished this lovely little kitchen refurbishment, stripped out the original 50 year old kitchen and larder cupboards, and replaced it with a modern white gloss kitchen, including a bespoke under the stairs unit to maximise all the space available, kitchen left ready for customer to decorate as they wish. Think you will agree it now looks stunning.

As you all know by now, I love the diversity of my job I can go from making a large, bespoke guinea pig hutch, a raised garden bed out of sleepers or fitting an oak garden gate or a cat flap. To fitting kitchen worktops or the whole kitchen, or making a hinged lift up stair hatch to make access to the underneath of a staircase for storage, boarding a loft. Or even fitting facia boards or putting a pitched roof on a porch.
Just love my job.

Dunster house home office installation and decking.

Earlier in the year I took on a new job, for a new customer, on products I had never installed before, I love doing new things. So, let’s start with the ground works we dug out and levelled the ground, then using an interlocking grid system Made a reinforced area topped with shingle/gravel to support the home office. Then came the assembly of the office, which was no mean feat, even though it comes flat packed in sections it’s still very heavy! You need to make sure everything is level, and everything lines up perfectly otherwise it just wont fit together, it’s a bit like giant Meccano but with less flexibility. Once the shell is up its time to secure it all together and fit the roof, windows, and door. Don’t forget the internal finishes like laminate flooring, lighting, and electrics, then hey presto, you have yourself a stunning Dunster house home office. What better way to finish off the look but with lovely new decking, making for a totally stunning finish!

A bit of window fitting this week in a 13th century grade 2 listed cottage... so far so good... Windows supplied by Driftwood Joinery Ltd.
It was a bit of a challenge as the render had been applied over the old window frames, so it needed to be cut back in order to replace the windows. All done now though and all made good, just needs a bit of re-painting and it will be as good as new.

House renovation

Earlier in the year, I spent six to seven weeks on a house renovation project. I was drafted into project manage the 1st stage of this house renovation, to enable the clients to move into a safe, functional living space. This involved ripping up rotting carpets, and gutting the whole of the downstairs interior, and the toilet and bathroom upstairs, which filled four skips. I managed and supervised contractors for the heating, electrics and plastering. I also undertook some patching holes in the roof, general water leaks, removal of a chimney flue, walls and doors, alongside building new stud walling in the kitchen and bathroom. Removing, sourcing, and replacing the entire kitchen and bathroom/toilet including tiling.
So pleased I could help my clients to move into a safe, modern space and wish them all the best with the decorating and 2nd stage of there renovation project.
