Bold Forest Park Conservation Volunteers

Bold Forest Park Conservation Volunteers Transforming former colliery land into thriving woodland, wildlife habitat and accessible green space. Turning post industrial ground into a greener future. 🌳

Connecting communities with nature through walking, cycling and outdoor wellbeing. Bold Forest Park is the name given to a collection of Country Parks in the south of St Helens. It forms part of The Mersey Forest. Bold Forest Park is still in it's infancy but the aim is to create somewhere that people from St Helens, Warrington and the surrounding areas can come to enjoy lots of outdoor activities

including walking, cycling, horse riding, fishing and more adventurous pastimes like Mountain Boarding and Segway Tours. To make this possible people from across the region including Councils, Landowners, Charities, Local Businesses and Local Communities will need to come together to share their ideas, create a plan, attract inward investment and then join together help to make it happen. Today, the BFP initiative is overseen by a Board comprising Borough and Parish Councillors, but day to day initiatives and activities are managed by a Steering Committee which includes many of the people listed above including volunteers from the local community. This ISN'T just a council initiative! Step 1 is to get an "Area Action Plan" for Bold Forest Park signed off by Central and Local Government. This Plan will give the Steering Committee the legal authority to consult with the community and then start to develop the strategy further. To get involved or for more information please visit the website and contact the Steering Committee.
