BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
We've had a new starter this week, and fresh from getting his dinner money taken off him we're pleased to annouce that Peter Eaton joins us as Sales Manager with Sorrymate!!
Pete has been a biker for longer than he hasn't. At the time he should have been perfecting tying his shoe laces, he was riding motorbikes.
His first bike was a 1976 Honda S50, shared with brother Paul. Summer holidays spent whizzing around the local farmers tracks (with permission of course!)
Move forwards to turning 16, Pete took the typical route of riding a Fs1-E, or "Fizzy" as they were affectionately known, before passing his full bike test on his 17th birthday to get straight onto his self restored 1967 Yamaha RD250E.
Pete has had a bike of some trade and description for 45 years and counting, and could not list all of the bikes he has owned.
Having raced in his late teens (first an RD250LC), followed by a TZ350g) he has restored more bikes than you could shake a stick at, and maintains all of his own bikes at his home workshop in Liverpool.
His taste in bikes are all of the bikes he wanted to own in the 80's-90's, (modern bikes leave him cold, with all the jaggedy, sticky out bits), and why buy a modern retro bike when if you do your homework, you could buy the original version, much cooler, for a similar amount!
More recently, after suffering 2 strokes, Peter has gone back to racing, initially riding, and now in team management. Pete runs a successful BSB support class team, and has been no stranger to Sorrymate events and activities in the past.
Day to day, you can find Pete riding into work on his BW R1200 GSA, dodging the commuter traffic on the M62, M6 and M56.
Plans are afoot for some more European touring. Any tips?
