Receiving a settlement agreement does not always mean your employment is ending. While these documents are most commonly used to formalise an exit for redundancy or resignation, they can also serve a different purpose.
You can actually use a settlement agreement to resolve a specific legal dispute, such as a discrimination claim, while remaining in your current role. This allows both parties to settle a dispute fairly while continuing the employment relationship.
