This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and organised Legal Assistant to develop their experience in a rewarding area of law, supporting solicitors who represent parents, family members and children in a range of complex and sensitive matters.

It was a pleasure to welcome two students to Watkins & Gunn this week as part of this year's LEDLET Legal Wales Scheme, delivered through a partnership between the Lord Edmund-Davies Legal Education Trust (LEDLET) and Legal Wales. The scheme plays an important role in promoting social mobility and encouraging young people across Wales to consider careers in the legal profession.

We enjoyed giving the students an insight into life at Watkins & Gunn. During their visit, they had the opportunity to spend time with our Managing Director, Clive Thomas, discussing his career in law and the many different routes into the profession. They also shadowed our employment lawyer, Holly Hale, gaining first-hand insight into her work and the practical realities of advising and supporting clients through our pro bono WAGEL clinic, showing the importance of access to justice within the community.

We hope they left with a better understanding of what a legal career can offer and the wide range of opportunities available within the legal sector.

The future of our profession depends on attracting talented people from all backgrounds, and we are proud to support initiatives that help make those opportunities more accessible.

We recently attended the Community union National Conference at The Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, with their current President, Andrew Gutteridge, proudly representing Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿!

We are one of the panel of solicitors who represent Community Union members. We were delighted to host our clients from Wales, the South West and the North of England at Cardiff Rugby Club.

Great food, a Q&A with the brilliant Allan Bateman, and fantastic entertainment from Dean “Tom” Jones, before karaoke took hold - made for a memorable evening!

Thanks to everyone who joined us - we look forward to next time!

Our team spent a great day at Whitchurch - Cardiff Golf Club recently supporting the Wooden Spoon Charity golf day.

We may not have won the trophy again, but we certainly came away with plenty of smiles, great memories and the satisfaction of supporting a fantastic charity that makes a real difference to the lives of children and young people
