We’re incredibly proud to share some very special news about our own Sophi Carroll.
At the Plymouth Law Society Annual Dinner on Friday evening, Sophi was named Plymouth Law Society Junior Lawyer Award, 2026.
In a room filled with lawyers and businesses from across Plymouth’s legal and professional community, it was a wonderful moment to see Sophi’s contribution recognised in this way.
Family Team Leader, Anne Shears, was delighted with the news. “Sophi is an exceptionally valued member of our Family team. Family law requires much more than technical ability. Clients often come to us at some of the most difficult and uncertain points in their lives, and Sophi has a natural ability to combine careful, thorough legal work with genuine empathy for the person she is helping.
She is particularly good at supporting vulnerable clients, taking the time to listen, understand their circumstances and make sure they feel supported throughout their matter. She is caring and approachable while remaining professional, focused and committed to achieving the best possible outcome for her clients.”
But Sophi’s contribution extends well beyond her work with clients.
As returning Chair of the Plymouth Junior Lawyers Division, she gives her time to bringing together and supporting junior members of the profession across the city. Here at Nash & Co, she is also someone who gets involved, whether that is supporting colleagues, organising social activities or helping with charitable initiatives such as our 24-hour charity cycle.
Sophi cares deeply about the quality of her work, the clients who put their trust in her and the people and community around her. We were extremely proud to nominate her for this award, and even prouder to see her win it.
It was a big surprise for Sophi on the night. “I am delighted and honoured to receive the award for Plymouth Law Society’s Junior Lawyer of the Year 2026. It was such a lovely surprise, and I am very grateful to have been nominated for the award by the firm.
“It is a privilege to be recognised alongside so many talented professionals, and I am grateful to our team for supporting and guiding me through the early stages of my career.”
