It's almost time for our annual Colleague Charity Pumpkin Decorating Challenge to launch! Our teams have their pumpkins and are being rather secretive about their themes this year! Nothing wrong with a little healthy competition!!!

Our decorating station is set up ready and charities are chosen. Each team's charity automatically receive a £50 donation form Bright. Then our 1st place get an extra £150, 2nd get an extra £100 and 3rd an extra £50.

Voting will open for the public from Friday 24 October, so watch this space...

: How could the Autumn Budget affect commercial property? The Autumn Budget takes place on 28 October, and businesses, investors and commercial property owners will be keen to see whether any changes are announced that could affect the property market.

Potential areas of interest include business rates, Stamp Duty, Capital Gains Tax, regional investment and incentives to support development and regeneration.

Although we won't know the details until the Budget is announced, now is a good opportunity to review any upcoming property transactions or projects and consider what future changes could mean for your plans.

Celebrating one year of Bright’s Commercial & Corporate Law team

It has been one year since Bright launched its specialist Commercial & Corporate Law team, led by Senior Associate Serena Frost with support from Paralegal Alice Barrow.

The team was introduced after we recognised a growing need for accessible, commercially focused legal advice for owner-managed and privately owned businesses. Over the past 12 months, Serena and Alice have supported clients across a range of sectors with sales, acquisitions and mergers, company formations and restructures, shareholder agreements, commercial contracts, and succession and exit planning.

They have also built strong relationships with local businesses and fellow professionals as the team continues to grow its presence in the commercial legal market.

Reflecting on their first year, Serena and Alice said:

“We’re proud to be celebrating one year of our Commercial & Corporate Team. Everyone at Bright has been incredibly friendly and supportive, and as a result, we’ve been able to achieve a great deal over the last 12 months, with lots more to come!”
