🛋️ Preparing for Viewings (In-Person Impact)

Viewings are about helping buyers imagine themselves living there.

🧹 Declutter & depersonalise

Remove excess furniture to make rooms feel bigger
Clear kitchen worktops (leave only 1–2 stylish items)
Pack away personal photos and bold décor.

🧽 Deep clean (this is critical)

Kitchens and bathrooms must sparkle, eliminate odours (pets, smoke, cooking smells), clean carpets, skirting boards, light switches, doors.

🛏️ Styling tips

Make beds with fresh, neutral bedding, use cushions/throws for a soft, inviting feel, add fresh flowers or greenery, keep a consistent colour palette (light, neutral tones).

🌡️ Atmosphere matters

Warm in winter, airy in summer, open curtains/blinds for natural light, soft lighting in darker areas.

That’s why professional marketing and presentation are crucial when selling your home—first impressions truly count.

🎯 General rule - Less is more & light is everything

Before photos are taken:

Open all curtains and blinds.
Turn on lights (even in daylight for warmth).
Hide everyday clutter (toothbrushes, shampoo, cables, bins).
Remove laundry, drying racks, and tea towels.

🛋️ Room-by-room

Living room - Plump cushions, tidy cables, remove remotes, arrange furniture to show space and flow.

Kitchen - Clear counters completely (apart from kettle/coffee machine), store washing-up items and bins out of sight.

Bedrooms - Minimal items on bedside tables, hide clothes, shoes, and laundry.

Bathroom - Put away all toiletries and close toilet lid.

Garden / outdoor - Furniture clean and neatly arranged
Cushions out (if weather allows), lawn cut, borders tidy, bins out of sight and driveway clear.
