We’re incredibly proud to share that Natasha Perry, our Senior Associate Solicitor and Team Leader in our Court of Protection department, has been named a finalist in the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards.

This recognition reflects the dedication and compassion she brings to some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community. Her work is meticulous, client‑centred and grounded in a genuine commitment to protecting people’s rights.

Our Head of Court of Protection and Partner, Sarah Griffiths-Jones, shared her thoughts:
'I am absolutely delighted that Natasha has been shortlisted for the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year awards. This recognition is thoroughly deserved and reflects not only her exceptional legal ability, but also her unwavering commitment to her clients and upholding their legal rights. At a time when legal aid work is in crisis, Natasha restores faith for it's future.'

We’re proud to share some recent feedback Zac Sussex, from our Mental Health department, has received from one of his clients:

‘The service I received from Read Solicitors was exemplary. Zac Sussex was recommended to me by a former patient. I found the team to be very approachable friendly and always going out of their way to help and accommodate me with any questions or difficulties. The communication was excellent. The receptionist was polite and very helpful and Zac and Asia always responded to my calls or promptly got back to me when I left messages. I never felt rushed or too much trouble. I felt confident and assured in Zac skills and abilities. I felt looked after and well informed by the team. I was kept up-to-date and I felt reassured that the team were doing the best job they could.

All in all a great experience and I'm thankful and grateful for all the time and the effort the team put in to accomplish such a successful outcome. Thank you team I think you're awesome!’

This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week focuses on one powerful theme: Action.

Awareness is important but real change happens when individuals, workplaces and communities take meaningful steps to support mental wellbeing.

At our firm, we know that the legal profession can be demanding - emotionally, mentally and physically. That’s why we’re committed not just to talking about mental health, but to taking action that genuinely supports our team.

One of the ways we do this is by offering access to an internal therapist, giving our staff a confidential space to talk, reflect and get support when they need it. It’s a step we’re proud of and one we see making a real difference.

Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that wellbeing isn’t a luxury, it’s essential. And meaningful action, even small steps, can create healthier workplaces and stronger communities.

This International Women’s Day, we’re proud to highlight one of our talented partners, Emma Ćojder, and her reflections on the support that has shaped her career - and the ways she pays that support forward.

When asked what has made a real difference to her, Emma shared how flexible working has allowed her to balance a fulfilling legal career with family life - from school drop-offs and pick-ups to spending meaningful summers in Croatia with her extended family. That flexibility not only benefits Emma but also enriches her family life and her son’s connection to his cultural roots.

Emma embodies this year’s theme, Give to Gain, by creating the same environment of trust and balance for others. She supports colleagues through flexible arrangements around study schedules, appointments or childcare needs and offers a listening ear to anyone facing personal challenges - regardless of gender or career stage.

At Reeds, we believe that empowering individuals to thrive at work and at home benefits us all. By giving flexibility, understanding and genuine support, we all gain stronger teams, deeper connections and a more inclusive profession.

Here’s to those who give to gain, lifting others as they grow.

Anyone who uses cannabis, even occasionally, will want to know how long it stays in their system before it’s safe to drive. What often surprises people is just how long the active compound – delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – can linger in the blood. Even after you feel completely sober, traces can remain for many hours, and sometimes days.

Our Nathan Seymour-Hyde has written an insightful article explaining when it’s safe to drive after cannabis use - to read it please click here: https://bit.ly/48r2j8P
