"For many years I pitched science shows to large science networks and was unsuccessful. I would receive the feedback that 'the majority of our audience is male, so we just don't know if they'd relate to a female host.' But last year, Netflix picked up our science show, Emily's Wonder Lab. I filmed the entire thing 9 months pregnant. So there is now a female-led science show on the biggest streaming platform in the world hosted by a pregnant woman - available world wide.

I'm just...so incredibly proud that my daughter will be able to watch this someday. When I was studying to become an engineer, I was one of 2 or 3 women in classrooms of 50 men. I'm hoping shows like this help change that demographic for her generation." -- Emily Calandrelli

Hello my little Science Detectives. It has been quiet on here for too long ! Over lockdown to support school home learning I have been videoing some little experiments you can be doing at home. Science detectives is back in October for more science fun !! This is a very hands on class exploring the basic concept of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Science Detectives is back !!!

New 10 week block starting Friday the 12th of January 2018 will be available for booking from the 1st of December at the North Berwick Community Centre at a cost of £65. If you are keen to sign your child up please do so ASAP as spaces go very quickly!

P1 and P2 aged children from 1pm - 2pm Friday

P3, P4, P5 aged children from 2.30pm to 3.30pm Friday

We will be continuing to explore all the basic concepts of science in a very fun, practical way. So if your child LOVES to ask questions and LOVES to get their hands dirty then Science Detectives is the class for them !!! Lots of fun and games happening at our lab in the next couple of months! Many of our researchers are looking at brain activation during children's development, in a safe and non-invasive way. This involves our young scientists wearing a special cap with sensors on it to detect brain activation, while playing fun, child-friendly games. Parents are compensated for their time and children are given a Young Scientist diploma and a special prize!

Well we are nearing the end of another 10 week block of science detectives and boy we have had fun ! A great bunch of kids who have been so enthusiastic and made me laugh so much. I am now looking for some new recruits for my next 10 week block starting April the 21st. The p1/p2 class is on a Friday 1-2pm and the p3/4/5 class is 2.20 to 3.30. It is a really fun, practical class exploring all the basic concepts of biology, chemistry and physics. It costs £55 for the 10 week term.
