🔨 Repair Rather Than Replace – Saving Our Customer's Money in Bristol

Sometimes the best solution isn't the most expensive one.

Our Repairs Technician, Neil, recently attended a residential development in Bristol where significant rot had developed to the timber entrance door frame.

The initial reaction could easily have been to recommend a full frame replacement. However, after assessing the condition on site, we advised the Property Manager that a repair was a viable option, saving considerable cost while still delivering a professional and long-lasting result.

✅ Rotten timber removed

✅ Wood hardener applied

✅ Repairs completed and filled

✅ Full frame and threshold prepared and repainted

🎁 A little extra from CPC: Whilst completing the repair works, Neil also gave the entrance door a full repaint at no additional cost. It wasn't included within the quotation, but we wanted to leave the entrance looking its absolute best.

The end result was a smart, refreshed communal entrance without the disruption and expense of a full replacement.

At Community Property Care, we believe our role is to be more than just a contractor carrying out works. We act as trusted partners to Property Managers, providing honest advice, practical solutions and looking for opportunities to add value wherever we can.

In this case, that meant repairing rather than replacing, saving unnecessary expenditure and leaving the entrance looking better than when we arrived. A great example of our team living our values and helping make Property Managers' lives easier.

👏 Well done Neil.

If you're looking for support with communal repairs, maintenance, fire compliance or estate services, we'd be delighted to help.

🐝 Today is World Bee Day — a reminder of just how important pollinators and biodiversity are within the environments we manage every day.

At Community Property Care, we believe even modest communal green spaces can play a meaningful role in supporting nature recovery.
From wildflower areas and pollinator-friendly planting, through to bug hotels and habitat creation, small practical changes can have a huge long-term impact across residential developments and communal spaces.

Our bug hotel initiatives have already generated fantastic feedback from both customers and communities — particularly where they help engage children and residents with nature in a positive, educational way.

🌱 Biodiversity-focused maintenance isn’t just about appearance:
✔ Supporting pollinators
✔ Encouraging natural pest control
✔ Enhancing resident wellbeing
✔ Supporting ESG objectives
✔ Creating greener, healthier communities

It’s also why we continue to invest in our own teams through training, education and knowledge development — helping our people better understand biodiversity and the important role they play in supporting sustainable environments across the sites we maintain.

As Property Managers increasingly focus on sustainability and biodiversity net gain, these types of initiatives are becoming more important than ever.

📥 To support World Bee Day, we’re offering 15% off the supply and installation of bug hotels across residential developments and communal spaces.

We’ve also put together a free Biodiversity & Bug Hotel guide, which we’d be happy to share with Property Managers or developers looking for practical ways to enhance biodiversity on their sites. If you are interested in this, drop an email to [email protected] with "Free BNG guide" in subject header.

A great day yesterday bringing some of the CPC Repairs Technicians together at Bicester Hotel Golf and Spa for our Regional Repairs Conference.

A huge thank you to John Bettess for leading the session and delivering some really informative, honest and engaging discussions with the team.

The focus wasn’t just around future growth of the division, but importantly how our technicians can directly be part of that journey, develop with it and ultimately be rewarded through it too.

Some really open conversations took place around:

* where we are performing well,
* where we need to improve,
* how we continue raising standards,
* and what “right first time” genuinely looks like in practice.

That honesty and accountability is what drives improvement. It is easy to talk about culture and values, but seeing teams openly challenge, contribute ideas and want to improve together is what really matters.

The day also gave us the opportunity to reinforce the standards, professionalism and communication expectations we want consistently delivered across every site and through every customer interaction.

And to finish the day… a bit of paddleboarding and team bonding thrown in as well 🌊 with Shelley Wylds the only one managing to stay on the board and dry! 😂

Really positive energy across the group and exciting to see the direction the repairs team are heading in.

🎉 Its great to see so many positive milestones being celebrated across our East region recently 👏

Firstly, a huge congratulations to Chris on completing the Crestcom Leadership & Management programme. This has been a fantastic development opportunity across CPC Property Care, helping our managers and supervisors strengthen their leadership skills, support their teams, and continue driving growth within the business.

Chris has fully embraced the programme and it comes at an exciting time as he continues leading our East region. We’re looking forward to seeing the team continue to grow under his leadership. A huge thank you to Fiona Bishop also for her leadership and support to Chris and all our graduates on this program.

We also want to recognise Kevin Wiseman, who has successfully passed his 6-month probation and received his £50 Amazon voucher this week. Kevin has already become a valued member of the region and we’re excited to see what he achieves moving forward.

Finally, congratulations to Jason Beedell on celebrating his 5-year work anniversary with CPC. Jason has been instrumental in supporting customers across the Cambridge area, particularly at the unique NIAB development. It was great to see Chris take the opportunity to celebrate the occasion with him over lunch.

Well done to everyone involved — it’s always great to recognise the people who contribute to the success and growth of the business every day.

A huge recogniction to our East team this week 💪

Big news from CPC as we continue to evolve our structure to support our growth 🚀

🎉 We’re delighted to announce the promotion of Chris Sheavill to Regional Manager for the East region.

Having worked closely with Grant over the years, he’s more than ready to take on this role — and we’re excited to see the East region grow under his guidance.

And speaking of Grant Lane — we haven’t lost him!

Grant has moved into a Business Partnership Manager role, where his strengths really come to life. With our continued growth and strategy, he was the standout candidate. His professional and personable approach ensures the customer journey — from first conversation through to onboarding — is second to none.
He’ll be focusing on building new client relationships, as well as strengthening the partnerships between our customers and regional teams — something that sits right at the heart of CPC.

Exciting times ahead for both Chris and Grant — we’re looking forward to seeing them thrive in their new roles.

CPC are proud to strengthen our ties within local communities through our sponsorship of Caerleon RFC U12s, a partnership we have supported for five years.

With an exciting tour to Portsmouth on the horizon, it is a fantastic time for the team, and we are delighted to be part of their journey.

Our owner, Adrian Povey, had the honor of being a special guest to unveil the new jerseys, which he presented to team captain Sammy Isaacs. This was a brilliant moment for everyone involved. Adrian was also presented with his own CPC top, reflecting the strong connection between the club and our business.

We wish the Caerleon RFC U12s the very best of luck on their tour and look forward to continuing our support for grassroots sport and the wider community.

Celebrating 5 amazing years with Rikki Howden! 🎉

From early on, it was clear that Rikki had something special — a natural talent and a work ethic that truly reflects our values. Like many of our leadership team, he’s grown through the business, and it’s been a pleasure to watch his journey.

As the business expanded, so did Rikki’s opportunities — and he grabbed every one of them. Today, he’s the proud Regional Manager of the East Midlands, and we couldn’t be more proud of everything he’s achieved.

Thank you for your dedication, leadership, and commitment over the past five years, Rikki. We’re excited to see what the future holds!

Enjoy your well-deserved celebration on May 17th! ⚽️

Big congratulations to two of our team members who’ve recently passed their probation 👏

Richard from our Birmingham team has made a fantastic impression across his sites, building strong relationships and working closely with our PMs. His impact hasn’t gone unnoticed – he recently picked up the Rising Star Award at the regional conference, a well-deserved recognition of the great work he’s been delivering.

Jono has also passed his probation (and celebrated a birthday recently too 🎉), and is already making a real difference at The Dials in Bristol, part of the Brabazon project. Working directly with YTL and Encore, he’s been instrumental in providing a high-quality caretaking service and supporting the team on site.
Brilliant work from both – great to see such a strong start! 💪
