Good people are never easy to lose.
As August comes to a close, Alex Shier and Katie Ginn have both stepped away from their main roles at CPC.
Alex has been part of CPC for nearly seven years. Starting as Regional Manager for the South West, he progressed to Regional Director, ultimately overseeing our West Region across a significant part of the country.
Throughout that journey, Alex proved himself to be a great leader and a real asset to the business.
One of his greatest strengths was building relationships. Alex was at his best sitting down with property managers, understanding the problems they were facing and clearly explaining how CPC could help—then ensuring we followed through.
His leadership helped deliver significant growth and success across the West, and he leaves behind strong teams, client relationships and foundations for the future.
While saying goodbye to Alex is difficult, he moves into a role that is right for him and his family. He leaves with our full support and our sincere thanks for everything he has contributed.
Katie was already very familiar to many of us from our Chamonix Estates days before joining CPC last year to support our finance and accounts team.
Her extensive property management experience meant she understood our clients, their pressures and our business from day one. Katie made great strides in a relatively short time, strengthening client relationships and bringing real value to the role.
Katie has now chosen to move into teaching—a career that works better around her young family—and we have every confidence she will make the same positive impression there.
She will still be providing CPC with a small amount of support each month, so some clients may occasionally see an email or two from her. We are grateful that a little of her knowledge and experience will remain with us during the transition.
Change also creates opportunity.
Mike Torjesen now steps up as Regional Manager for the West, covering Wales, the South West and the Midlands up to Birmingham. During his first nine months with CPC, Mike has already demonstrated broad knowledge, strong leadership and a real understanding of our customers.
We are excited to see Mike make the region his own and build on the strong foundations already in place.
Ultimately, good people are people you always want to keep. However, sometimes the right thing is to recognise that a new opportunity—or a different set of circumstances—is right for them and their families.
At that point, you thank them, support them and genuinely wish them every success.
Alex and Katie, thank you from everyone at CPC. You will both be greatly missed, and we look forward to seeing everything you achieve in your next chapters. 💙
