Receptionist/Legal Secretary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist/Legal Secretary to join us. This is a great time to be joining us as we continue our ambitious growth plans.

As a Receptionist/Legal Secretary you will play a key role in our continued success; to achieve this you will deliver the following:

Secretarial/PA support to our team, ensuring you maximise the efficiency of their time.
File management tasks to ensure full compliance with practices including Solicitors Code of Conduct and anti-Money Laundering.
Dealing with routine client telephone enquiries, managing and taking calls on behalf of our team and booking meetings.
General reception duties.
This is a busy and challenging, but rewarding role, and for you to be successful we need you to demonstrate skills including the following:

Proven track record of providing high quality administration/secretarial support, preferably with experience in a law firm.
Knowledge of case management systems.
Good IT skills (preferably with experience in using Microsoft products and Adobe).
Excellent communication skills.
The ability to deal with highly confidential information with tact and sensitivity.
The ability to work well under pressure, use your initiative, effectively manage your time and thrive when working in a fast paced environment.
The position is available on a full-time basis starting in January 2021, but part-time may be considered.

Salary – dependent on experience

Our priority at the moment, apart from Court cases, is to prepare Wills for clients. We are giving priority to NHS and other key workers so please indicate this when you book a telephone appointment.
We are signing Wills either in our garden at the office or, for those in lockdown, through the window of your home. We will give precise details nearer the time.
Our fees for making Wills are £150 plus Vat per Will

COVID-19 – BUSINESS AS USUAL
We wish to assure our clients that we are continuing to work remotely and will be able to respond to emails. We will also answer telephone enquiries, although this may be through our telephone answering service. So, we will call you back as soon as we can.
All meetings with our clients are currently by telephone, rather than face to face, in line with current Government guidelines, to protect clients and staff.
At the moment, the Courts are open, but hearings are taking place by telephone/Skype, etc. The Court is providing details a few days before each hearing.
We are working hard to prepare Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney for those in need, giving priority to NHS and other key workers. When making your appointment, please indicate that you are a key worker.
We are constantly monitoring the situation and will provide updates as appropriate.

Where possible we will set up telephone meetings with our clients rather than have face to face contact, in line with current Government guidelines, to protect clients and staff.
At the moment, the Courts are open as usual and are asking that Court users inform us and the court if they are in isolation and unable to attend a hearing.
We are constantly monitoring the situation and will provide updates as appropriate.
