Everyone at North East Law Centre is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Lord Jeremy Beecham.

Lord Beecham was announced as our patron at our 35 year celebration back in 2013, and the former Newcastle City Council leader helped set up the Benwell Community Law Centre (later Newcastle and North East) in the late 1970s.

Lord Beecham was a strong advocate for access to justice and particularly passionate about the local communities we continue to serve in the North East.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
