📢 Dog Attack Fines Update
A new law in England and Wales introduces unlimited fines for dog owners whose pets attack or “worry” livestock, replacing the previous £1,000.00 cap.
The changes under the Dogs (Protection of Livestock) (Amendment) Act 2025 also gives police stronger powers, including seizing dogs, collecting evidence (like DNA), and entering premises during investigations.
The legislation marks a significant step in protecting farmers and rural communities, and reinforces the importance of responsible dog ownership, especially in countryside areas.
Police will have new powers to seize and detain dogs that have attacked or chased farm animals.
