Writing your Will is only part of the job.
From my experience, how it is signed and witnessed matters just as much and small mistakes at this stage can create problems later.
I often find that people treat the signing process as an afterthought, but in England and Wales there are formal witnessing requirements that cannot be ignored.
Who you choose as witnesses also matters.
For example, asking someone who benefits under your Will, or their spouse or civil partner, to witness it can affect that gift.
That is not something you want your family discovering when your wishes need to be followed.
I want you to understand that my support is about making the process clear so you feel confident about both the decisions in your Will and the practical steps needed to put it in place properly.
