⚡ FUSE BOARD UPGRADE IN MERTHYR TYDFIL

BEFORE:
A fuse board from the 1960s, with old rewirable fuses, no RCD protection, no surge protection and a plastic and wooden casing 😬

AFTER:
A new metal consumer unit with surge protection and RCBOs, brought up to the current BS7671 wiring regulations 🔧

Why metal? The casing is there to contain a fire, should one ever start 🛡️

Why RCBOs? Each circuit is protected on its own, so if the cooker circuit develops a fault, the rest of the circuits keep working 💡

Have a look at the finished board and the clips below 👇

🏠 Still running on an old fuse board with rewirable fuses? It is worth having it looked at.

⚡ TESLA EV CHARGER INSTALL IN MERTHYR TYDFIL

The job:
A new Tesla Gen 3 EV charger installed 🚗

The earthing:
There was no PEN fault protection for the earthing, so we installed an earth rod 🔩

The protection:
🛡️ SPD (surge protection device) fitted
🔌 RCBO to protect against earth faults and overcurrent

Swipe through for the charger, the earth rod and the protection.

👉 Thinking about an EV charger? Getting the earthing and protection right matters as much as the charger itself.

Hello I am running in the Cardiff Half Marathon this weekend for the NSPCC. This is the first time for me to run this distance, training hard through the summer which wasn't easy in the heat 🥵🔥. I would really appreciate any support and a donation towards the NSPCC. Thank you 👍🏼

⚡ CONSUMER UNIT UPGRADE AND EV CHARGER INSTALL IN BLAENAVON

BEFORE:
An old consumer unit, fed by old arctic cable.

AFTER:
A new board with RCBOs and SPD surge protection, fed by SWA steel wired armoured cable 🔧

We stripped out the old arctic cable and ran SWA armoured in its place, fitted the new consumer unit, then installed an OHME EV charger off the new board in the customer's garage ⚡

🚗 Home charging sorted, and the supply brought up to date at the same time.

📸 The before shot is in there too, have a look at the difference.

📍 G&M Electrics Ltd carries out consumer unit upgrades and EV charger installations across Blaenavon and the surrounding area.
