WHO GETS TO KEEP THE DOG? 🦴🐾🥺 Legally, there is no Act that protects the rights of a dog when couples divorce. This means that if matters were taken to court, it may be costly as ownership needs to be proven. The judge may not easily be able to make orders to decide who the dog should live with or how often (if at all) they should see the other party. 👨⚖️ However under UK law pets are effectively property or chattels so they will be described in the same genre of furniture. The law will therefore look to who bought it, who paid for it and who pays insurance for it. That is if either party can provide the evidence. 💰💰💰💰 Solution: PET-NUPTIAL 📃 People can become very stuck on issues when going through a divorce, whether it is about a house, a car, furniture or a pet.
It can become consuming, overwhelming and unnecessary but if you put your mind to it you can come to an agreement. 🤝🐶❤️
