A woman undergoing cancer treatment was persuaded to put £150,000 in a investment scheme that subsequently collapsed.

Moneda Capital is now under investigation after hundreds of investors lots tens of millions of pounds in total.

We have so far managed to recover the woman £85,000 and are ultimately hoping to retrieve the full amount.

How the NFH saved Christmas 🎄

Our client came to us after being scammed out of £90,000 by someone she met in a Facebook group.

What started as an online connection turned into a year-long relationship, during which the fraudster claimed his bank account was blocked and asked for help with expenses - including his son’s birthday and school fees.

In total, our client made over 200 payments, eventually losing six figures and being left penniless.

She feared she wouldn’t be able to afford Christmas presents for her grandchildren - but with the help of the National Fraud Helpline, £90,000 was recovered in time for Christmas.

🚨 WARNING: FAKE MARTIN LEWIS VIDEOS 🚨

National Fraud Helpline has issued an urgent alert about AI-generated scam videos on social media featuring consumer expert Martin Lewis.

The fake clips show Lewis promoting a platform called Quantum AI - but it’s part of a global scam convincing people to invest in fake funds.

Because Lewis is so trusted, fraudsters are using AI to animate his image and voice, tricking victims through Facebook and Instagram ads.

Senior Partner Martin Richardson said the sudden rise in these fake videos is “deeply concerning” and that scammers appear to be reeling in victims fast.

The National Fraud Helpline has already helped victims recover money lost to fake Martin Lewis scams - and fear there are hundreds more.

Dawn Grice lost £30,000 to a global cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme that raised over $650million from more than 200,000 investors worldwide.

When the NovaTech scheme collapsed in 2023, Dawn’s investment instantly became worthless. Ponzi schemes depend on new investors’ money to pay out earlier ones - until they inevitably fall apart.

🚨 Scam Warning: Ostin Technology (OST) 🚨

A “pump and dump” scheme has left thousands of investors out of pocket.

👉 Promoted through slick Facebook ads and WhatsApp groups, people were told OST shares would soar.
👉 The stock did rise - hitting over $9 a share by mid-June 2025.
👉 But on June 25–26, the price was dumped, collapsing to just $0.55.

Those behind the scam walked away with profits - while ordinary investors lost almost everything. The FBI is now investigating.

We worked with The Sunday Times to help uncover how the fraud worked and to warn others.

Fraudsters are targeting new employees by pretending to be their boss and asking them to send money or gift cards.

These scammers often create email addresses that look almost identical to genuine ones and may even use information from LinkedIn to make their requests seem more convincing.

Once the money or gift cards are sent, it is incredibly difficult to recover the funds. That’s why it’s vital for both employers and employees to stay vigilant.
