Vic Wozny was born and bred in Moss Side and he still has family there. He witnessed many incidents straight out of "Life on Mars" which made him want to be a Defence lawyer. He qualified as a solicitor in 1981 and had a mixed practice up to and including his opening of Wozny & Co which was based in the Moss Side precinct from 1986 until 1992. During that time, which was at the height of the gang

wars, Vic acted in many very serious cases and began to specialize in criminal law. Since 1992 he has worked for various firms,exclusively in criminal law, and now represents clients in the Crown Courts as well as in the Magistrates Courts and at police stations.

Please sign the e-petition below - if the government have their way 1200 criminal legal aid solicitors firms will close in England leaving only 400 England wide and only 38 in Greater Manchester. They also want to take away choice - meaning anybody thats arrested will be allocated a solicitor - they WILL NOT have a choice. Thousands of solicitors and support staff will be out of jobs with no hope of getting a job in the field that they were highly trained but poorly paid for. I'm not complaining, those who do Criminal Legal Aid work were never well paid but from next summer thousands wont be paid at all including us. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sign the petition.
