We wanted to let you know that we’ll be closed from 5pm today until 8am Tuesday 1 September.
Our out of hours service is available for emergencies only. The service will continue to respond to these repairs during this time, so if you’ve got an emergency repair, please call 0300 777 2600. You can check what's covered under emergency repairs .

Please remember you can continue to use our online portal, MyGolding at all times to manage your account and access our services, including to report, reschedule and cancel a routine repair.

Recently our Safer Neighbourhoods team attended the Healthy aliance partnership meeting where they were discussing the proposed new approach to health service delivery in Kent-specifically in this meeting in Maidstone. The new model will be known as the Neighbourhood model.

It was great to be there to give a voice to our sector, our customers and to highlight potential barriers and concerns so these can be noted and considered whilst this model is formulated before it goes live.

We all use 5x as much water than we think. The average person thinks they use 30 litres per day, when the true figure is closer to 140 litres per day.

If we carry on using water like we do now, by 2055 we could be short by 5 billion litres every day. That’s like 25 million people running the tap for 20 minutes continuously every day.

John and his wife Maureen didn’t expect a knock on the door to result in new smoke alarms being fitted at their home, but that’s exactly what happened when firefighters stopped by.

Crews were in the area to offer free home fire safety visits when they called at the retired couple’s house.

John, 80, said: “The firefighters were clearly wearing uniform, showed us their IDs and a fire engine was parked along the road, so it was obvious they were not cold callers.

“They checked our smoke alarms and as they were coming up to the 10-year expiry date, they replaced them and relocated one to a better position in the house.”

The firefighters also noticed John’s hearing aids and explained if he couldn’t hear a sounding smoke alarm, there’s alternative vibrating options they could install.

John added: “It’s a fantastic service and we both felt very reassured after the visit.”

Free home fire safety visits are available for to anyone who:

✅ is aged 70 or over
✅ is living with dementia
✅ has a long term health condition
✅ has young children or is pregnant
✅ is a smoker
