'Telling employee their work is messy is not harassment'

Pointing out that an employee’s work is messy and full of mistakes is not harassment, a tribunal has ruled.

The ruling came in the case of an HR manager who claimed to have been “devastated, hurt and profoundly upset” after his boss told him his work was messy and needed improvement.

'Mother and Grandfather found guilty of laundering daughter’s £50,000 inheritance'

Two grandchildren have been defrauded of a £50,000 inheritance after their mother was ‘annoyed’ at being left less after the death of the grandmother. Following a trial last year, a proceeds of crime hearing at Swansea Crown Court delivered a verdict of fraud by abuse of power against Katherine Hill (52) and her father Gerald (93); who were also ordered to repay the £50,000.

Leaders of the gambling firm William Hill were ordered to pay a former executive £68,065 after a tribunal ruled that he was unfairly dismissed. The ruling followed allegations of sexual harassment and a reportedly flawed internal investigation. The former head of search at the gambling giant was dismissed without notice last year.

'Norwich City FC steward wins unfair dismissal case'

A former football club steward who sent an inappropriate image of two politicians to another staff member has had his claim for unfair dismissal upheld. Norwich City Football Club dismissed Gennaro Romano in November 2023 for breaching its disciplinary policies, a position that the tribunal found to be "unfair and unreasonable."

A school cannot take its case against a teacher who shared social media posts criticising teaching about LGBT+ relationships to the Supreme Court.

Kristie Higgs, a Christian mother of two, was sacked from her role at Farmor's School in Fairford, Gloucestershire, in 2019 for sharing Facebook posts criticising teaching about LGBT+ relationships in schools.
