💙 Let's Talk About Mental Health 💙

On Time to Talk Day 2025, we’re reminded of the importance of checking in with ourselves and those around us. At Woolley Bees, we believe a supportive environment makes all the difference.

Our wellbeing policy is designed to ensure everyone feels supported, including:
🔹 Personalised action plans that cater to each individual’s needs
🔹 Training for managers to help spot signs of stress or struggle
🔹 Access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for confidential support
🔹 Flexible working arrangements, wherever possible

It’s not just about today—it’s about creating an ongoing culture of support. Let’s talk, listen, and be there for each other.

The importance of preparing for the future can’t be overstated, especially for family businesses. According to new research from STEP, only 31% of family business owners in the UK currently have a succession plan. With inheritance tax charges now a greater reality after recent Budget changes, there’s an urgent need for family business owners to discuss estate planning.

STEP’s ‘It’s Time to Talk’ campaign encourages these important conversations. At Woolley Bees, we specialise in helping families formalise succession plans that respect both business goals and personal wishes.

Get in touch with us to learn how we can help secure your family’s future. Visit our website www.woolleybees.co.uk or call us on 01509 212266.

According to our research published today, only 31% of family business owners in the UK have a succession plan. Although we conducted this research in the UK, we expect that this is similar for family businesses globally.

With many family businesses, including farming families, facing an inheritance tax charge on death following changes announced in the recent UK Budget, now, more than ever, it is time for business families to talk about their estate planning.

Today we are launching ‘It’s Time to Talk’, a global campaign focused on supporting family businesses in their estate planning and having the conversations needed to plan for the future.

Thank you to those who have been involved in this campaign including Matthew Braithwaite TEP from Wedlake Bell, Hayden Bailey TEP from Boodle Hatfield, Bryony Cove TEP from Farrers, Christopher Nieper from the Christopher Nieper Education Trust and Paul Miller from Cornish Accounting Solutions.

We would also like to thank those who have supported from STEP’s Global Special Interest Groups including the STEP Business Families Global Special Interest Group Steering Committee Amanda Lashley TEP, Daniel Trimarchi TEP, Joseph Kellogg TEP, Alessandro Belluzzo TEP, Frederick Bjorn TEP, Cynthia Brittain TEP, Nicole Cavanagh TEP, Chris Delaney TEP, Chris Graves TEP, Alfred Liu TEP, Eleanor Milner TEP and Adrian Pilcher TEP.

Many thanks to the STEP Responsible Stewardship of Wealth Working Group for their support.
