On September 26, 2022, The Fashion Law Edit attended the Raise the Wage: A Renewed Effort to Raise the District’s Base Minimum Wage for Tipped Workers which was hosted by the Washington Bar Association to discuss issues related to enacting Initiative 82. Initiative 82 is statutory legislation which would allow legislators to raise the minimum wage for tipped workers in restaurants. Currently, the minimum wage for tipped workers in Washington D.C. is $5.35.
