Founding partner Robert Amsterdam is a leader in international crisis law and has been defending and advising leading corporations and governments leaders for 37 years. Past clients include Mikhail Khodorkovsky, former CEO of Yukos and once Russia’s wealthiest businessman who became Putin main opposition figure after serving more than 10 years in jail. The firm also lea a high-stakes dispute with the Venezuelan government, and successfully freed their client from a political motivated incarceration. Robert has represented numerous mining and extractive industry companies when facing expropriation, intervention, and harassment by governments, and has also represented corporations such as the Four Seasons Resort and Hotels Group and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
