The Employee Relations (Flexible Working) Act, which came into effect in April 2024, brings significant changes to flexible working rights:

> Employees can now request flexible working from day one of their employment.
> They are allowed to make two requests per year.
> Employers must engage in a consultation process to explore alternatives before rejecting a request.
All requests must be addressed within a two-month timeframe.
