You wouldn’t believe this, but I was told I couldn’t do it, but then… I did it anyway!
Here’s the lowdown. Let down by people who gave a lot of talk, but when it came delivering, just ghosted. I didn’t give up and quit. No. I just got on and persuaded others, called in favours from friends who are my family and managed to create art that has now won 19 accolades!
I am amazed and honoured that the piece of work which I didn’t even create with the intention of submitting to festivals has received so much international recognition from all over the world.
I have been ridiculously sick from November to the point that my family didn’t know if I was going to make it. Yet here I am by the grace of God the Almighty, able to express gratitude. Gratitude for being alive and of course for receiving so many accolades.
So, I share a glimpse of my journey and say that, the juries love it!! 🚨 Of course there were people who said I couldn’t do it. I went ahead and did it anyway. Of course, I was being dragged down and let down. I pulled up my socks and did it anyway! Of course my finished product was criticised. I went ahead and won at several film festivals and got loads of accolades anyway. 19 accolades no less!…👨⚖️
Our legal horror short Slayed just walked away with another accolade at an international film festival. 🏆 all thanks to the Almighty Alhamdulillah!
Turns out when you put a lawyer and cinema together, the result is a guilty pleasure worth watching. 🎬✨
