**🚨US Suspends Immigrant Visa Processing for 75 Countries**
The United States has indefinitely suspended immigrant visa processing from 75 countries, effective January 21, 2026.
📍 **What's affected:**
- Immigrant visas (green cards) for employment and family reunification
- Countries include Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, Haiti, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Somalia, and 67 others
📍 **What's NOT affected:**
- Tourist, student, and temporary work visas
- World Cup visitors this summer
🔍 **The reason:** The State Department will reassess procedures to prevent entry of foreign nationals who officials believe would take welfare and public benefits
This new policy will unfortunately impact families, employers, and workers seeking permanent residency in the US.
