As for December 5th, the Ministry for Magic has decided to put in place a travel ban from the United States of America due to the rising number of cases of the unknown malady they are calling "Malemoria". The Ministry for Magic is taking this very seriously and working to prevent the spread in to our borders.

Initial symptoms include headache, drowsiness and nausea. Victims will often vanish for a time and then will be found wandering aimlessly with no memory of who they are. Witches and Wizards that have contracted this disease have lost their ability to use magic. We've reached out to healers from within MACUSA for an official statement concerning their research on this new illness.

Certain exceptions will be made during this travel ban for nationals returning home among others. If you need more information, please contact Tybalt McKinnon at the Department of Magical Transportation. Witches and Wizards outside of the country may contact their local ambassador with the Department of International Magical Cooperation for more information.

The Ministry for Magic is warning English citizens of an increased threat from within the United States. English citizens should carefully consider the risks of travel to and throughout the country. The Ministry for Magic's decision to issue this warning is due to a mysterious illness that is causing Witches and Wizards to seemingly lose their magical ability and memory.

The Magical Congress of the United States of America has assured us that all measures are being taken to secure this issue. Until this time, English citizens are urged to defer travel to large, urban centers within the United States and to do so at your own risk. Appropriate measures are being taken to protect English citizens from this yet, unknown, threat.

Reports are out that a "werewolf" like man has been spotted in Brighton.

The wizard, who under the full moon, seemed to believe he was a werewolf, was spotted by several witches and wizards, but also muggles.

The man began his rampage in the wizarding village just outside of Brighton. The man, broke into a first story glass window and attacked a family. The family managed to escape any serious injuries, but were quite shaken by the experience being heard saying, "It brought back some terrible memories... " being in reference to the wizarding war.

The man reappeared on the muggle side of town where muggle news released photograph and news reports showing the man covered in blood and chasing after terrified passers-by while growling like a wild animal.

Before wizarding law enforcement could take control of the situation, muggle law enforcement attempted to control the man. The muggle law enforcement officers stood back and watched as the wizard destroyed their muggle transportation with his bare hands, breaking glass and bending metal. Eyewitness reports say there was blood everywhere.

Wizarding officials came to the scene and subdued the man temporarily and arrested him to be taken for questioning.

Wizarding officials are working to fix the situation. Officials announced that all muggle memories have been modified and a stand in suspect has been replaced within the muggle law enforcement prison.

There has been no further comment regarding the reason for the Wizard's behavior or condition.

Centaur-Ministry Talks to Begin by November

You heard it at MIMC first, in a surprising turn of events the Ministry is meeting with representatives of a herd of Centaurs at Hogwarts to negotiate a peaceful co-existence.

The first draft of the bill was authored by Hermione Granger, war veteran and hero who currently works at the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. The bill went through several drafts, with Ms. Granger working with the Senior Undersecretary to the Minister, Anthony Goldstein.

“We think this bill is the first step,” states Ms. Granger, “After that we can push for more rights for Goblins and Elves and other creatures.”

“I wouldn’t go that far,” said Goldstein, “But I will say that this bill is rather unique. We are presenting it to the Centaur Herd. We’re hoping for peaceful negotiations and a peaceful resolution which will mutually benefit us both.”

The negotiations will be held in some sort of room at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Centaur and Ministry parties will be present along with Headmistress McGonagall and the portrait of the late great Albus Dumbledore.

“It makes sense to have him present,” states Ms. Granger, “Professor Dumbledore was a friend to the Centaurs and he can, along with the Headmistress, serve as the voice of neutrality, a moderator if you will. Keeping both parties cool.”

Also to be present is the Head of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures who has, however been a loud voice against these talks. He was unavailable for comment, but he likely shares the same view as others. This belief being that the Centaurs are too violent and savage to be made peace with. Sadly, quite the number of wizards share this view point.

“I don’t see how anyone can negotiate with them,” stated an anonymous Ministry official, “Centaurs are people of near human, not human, but near human intelligence. I think the Undersecretary is giving them too much credit and him and Ms. Granger in general have far too much faith in these talks.”

The talks will be guarded. There will be no press allowed and many magical protections have been put in place to ensure the safety of the parties involved. Whether or not these talks will succeed remains to be seen .

Wizard Killed in Suspected Death Eater Attack

Although Ministry officials will provide no details at this time, the Auror Office has confirmed the recent murder of a British wizard. According to one of the Aurors on the scene who asked to remain anonymous, the wizard was attacked by several Death Eaters at a Muggle café he was patronizing with a Muggle coworker. Further, the anonymous Auror claims the murdered wizard was wanted criminal Harrison Byrne, a fact not confirmed by the Ministry, and that at least one attacker, not yet identified, was killed.

Despite the attack taking place in a Muggle neighborhood during a busy time of day, no Muggles were killed, and the few who sustained injury were treated and released from St. Mungo’s. They, as well as other Muggle witnesses of the attack, had their memories altered to forget the event, and the badly damaged Muggle café was restored to its original condition.

The Ministry stresses that this was not a random attack, that the victim was specifically targeted, and danger to the general public is minimal.

The attack remains under investigation, and the Ministry vows to reveal detailed information when appropriate.

We at the ministry of Magic hope that everyone had a safe and joyous Samhain and All Hallows' Eve.

We have An urgent report from the Ministry in France, Italy and Spain:

An Illness has been spreading at a rapid rate. The Ministry of England is taking necessary precautions to prevent spread to the United Kingdom.

The illness is believed to be a severe case magical influenza. In the year previous, Europe saw a severe case of influenza spread however this year is a little bit different. So far this year, a total of 25 people have already died from this certain strain of illness in Italy and France whether from the illness or unfortunate loss of magical control.

Symptoms include:
High Fever
Loss of Magic Control
Inability to stay focused
Muscular Weakness
Fatigue
Fluctuating Increase and Decrease Magical Ability

If you have any of these symptoms please go to your nearest hospital or local healer. Healers are working tirelessly in order to create a cure or a potion that will ease the symptoms of this illness.

URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC

Convicted murderer and Semper Putus mastermind Myles Selwyn has escaped from Azkaban Prison. The Auror Office considers him extremely dangerous and urges members of the community not to approach or attempt to apprehend Selwyn if sighted. Instead, contact the Auror Office immediately so that professional law enforcement can take him into custody and return him to Azkaban. Additionally, the Ministry encourages all members of the community to practice the utmost care concerning their safety, and strongly advises everyone to reinforce the protective enchantments around their homes and, unless absolutely necessary, not to leave their homes. The Auror Office is conducting an investigation into Selwyn’s escape and has launched an international manhunt. Anyone with information pertaining to Selwyn’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Auror Office immediately.

Ministry to hold Wizard’s Chess Tournament

The Ministry of Magic has announced that is is holding a Wizard’s Chess tournament in London in May.
The Ministry’s Games and Sports department has announced that this May there will be a full fledged competition to find the Chess champion.

Gershwin Fitsherbert, the head of the Games and Sports department stated, “We are very excited for this event. The Ministry always sponsored a tournament like this, but the last century was riddled with so much wore that it was really forgotten.

Known participants will include training-Auror, and war hero Ronald Weasley, who is well known, amongst friends and family, to be a phenomenal player of this historic game.

“Never done anything like this for sport,” says Weasley, “But I am looking forward to it. It’ll be interesting playing against all those other wizards.”

Minerva McGonagall spoke of a particular game of chess that Mr. Weasley played his very first year at Hogwarts, “Bloody Sorcerers stone,” Begins McGonagall, “But what a game. Dumbledore himself called it the best played game Hogwarts had seen in centuries.”

The Ministry reports that the winner of the tournament will receive a handcrafted chess set with unique figurines all around , a trophy, as well as 1000 galleons. More news to follow as MIMC prepares to cover the event.

It is also being reported that a ball will be held on the Summer Solstice, the fashion writers, I am sure, will be more than excited to cover the fabulous fashions that will be seen.

Summer Plans? Try Magic-Muggle Summer Camp!

Summer is right around the corner, and many parents like to use the extended holiday to introduce their children to new cultural, educational and recreational experiences. Travel and tutoring are the two tried and true methods for most magical mums and dad’s, but Ephegenia and Eustace Tumbledown of Mould-on-the-Toad in the Lake District have developed an innovative program that allows children to cohabitate and interact with Muggle children in a supervised, rural setting: Mouldy Toad Magic-Muggle Summer Camp.

Summer camp has been a long tradition in Muggle society where children are sent away to learn skills and abilities they may not normally have an opportunity to in regular school and to give their parents some peace and quiet. The children participate in a variety of outdoor and indoor activities, such as football (similar to Quidditch but played flight-free on the ground), swimming, hiking, kayaking (long narrow boats propelled with oars), sleeping in tents, cooking food over an open fire, arts and crafts, singing and drama. Children from our community will engage in these time-tested Muggle activities along with real Muggle children to experience what life would be like without magic. The Muggle participants come from mixed Magic-Muggle families and are familiar with non-Muggle children.

Mouldy Toad offers a variety of programs to serve the different needs of their clients, from half- and full-day camps for younger children (ages 5-9) to week and month long camps for older children (10-16), as well as programs for special needs children (Squibs). Supervision is provided by the Tumbledowns, who have studied Muggle society for the last two decades, and their staff of specially trained Witches and Wizards. It appears that three more children have fallen to this strange illness that took the Minister's son last week. Rico is home and resting up to get his strength back and does not appear to have any damage from it yet. The new patients are Lisa, of the L'gray family, Henry, of the Charmone family and little 6 year old Sophia Aboro. All are in critical watch. Is someone or something poisoning the kids? Is it a new virus or plague that only effects the young? We have our best minds looking for answers. Protect your children if you are in Italy. If you are anywhere else and you have a child that developes symptoms take them to the nearest wizarding hospital and contact your Ministry of Magic.
