Are you a final year student or have graduated and want to get involved in high-profile cases and high-impact deals? If so, apply to our winter vacation scheme now!

A vacation scheme is a great introduction of being a Trainee at Herbert Smith Freehills. During your vacation scheme, you'll sit in the same room as a Partner or Senior Associate and be given real work for real clients. You'll also be involved in workshops and presentations that provide an insight into the breadth of practice areas within the firm, as well as joining our fun socials with trainees, associates and partners.

This role provides you with work experience and deeper insight into Herbert Smith Freehills, helping you hone key transferable skills, as you organise events and promote the firm on campus.⠀

They’re looking for strong communication skills, enthusiasm and creativity. At interview, they’ll also want to know why you’re interested in our firm, what you can bring to the role and how you’ll work with them to promote their activities. ⠀

These interactive sessions cover subjects like Corporate Negotiation, Alternative Dispute Resolution, insights into their pro bono work, and a careers fair. You’ll also spend a day shadowing a trainee, followed by an evening social event.⠀

In collaboration with the Law Society, HSF are conducting a case study workshop where you’ll get firsthand experience with analysing information and statistics, applying legal knowledge to a problem scenario as well as developing your commercial awareness. ⠀

This is also a good way of preparing for Insight days or Vacation Schemes as some law firms will require you to go through a case study at the interview stage of the process.⠀

Hello all!

My name is Christie and I am the Campus Ambassador for Herbert Smith Freehills this academic year.

My role this year will be to:

- promote work experience and networking opportunities offered by HSF for undergraduate students

- Offer tips and advice on the application process

- liaise with the firm to put on events on campus that students will benefit from, equipping them with knowledge on what’s its like working for a global law firm

New this year, we now have an instagram page as an additional platform to reach out to students and create HSF awareness - if you could all follow this page and engage on both social media accounts, that will help me tailor HSF events and content to what you and other students want!
