in 1647, Richard Cromwell, son of Oliver Cromwell and later Lord Protector from 1658–59, was admitted to the Inn.
The entry describes him as “son and heir apparent of Oliver Cromwell of Ely in the Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire, arm[iger].”
👀 Can you spot the signature of John Thurloe, Oliver Cromwell’s Secretary of state and spymaster, among his manucaptors (guarantors)?
