🛑 URGENT ALERT FOR ALL HEALTH &
CARE VISA HOLDERS🛑
They promised care workers ILR in 5 years. Now they
are extending to 15. 💔

Your important indefinite leave to remain uk update

When 616,000 of care workers came in the UK
between 2022 and 2024 to support the NHS and social
care sector, The UK Government made a deal. Care
workers uprooted their lives, brought their families,
dedicated to caring for the UK's most vulnerable. The
deal was simple: work hard, follow the rules and apply
for settlement after 5 years.

The Home Office’s new "Earned Settlement" proposal
threatens to tear that deal up. By retrospectively
changing the baseline to 15 years for care workers
already here, they are moving the goalposts in the
middle of the game.

Bottom line: 15 year visa uk to get ILR is unfair for
existing care visa holders

⚠️ A longer route means higher costs and years of
insecurity.
Families end up paying fees again and again and many
stay on temporary visas for over a decade.

You cannot let this happen in silence.
The government is consulting NOW. They are legally
required to listen, but only if every care worker speak
up.

👇 YOUR 3-STEP ACTION PLAN:
1️⃣ Respond to the Consultation: Deadline is 12 Feb
2026. Watch out for the question on "Transitional
Arrangements" Demand they protect those already
here!
2️⃣ Email your MP: We’ve created a template that
explains the local care crisis this will cause. Speak to
your employer, visit your MP with your employer and
other colleagues.
3️⃣ Join a Union: Individuals can be ignored. UNISON,
GMB, and RCN cannot.

If they can break their promise this time, what is
stopping them to break promise in 15 years.

ilr 15 years
indefinite leave to remain in the uk

21/11/2025

🔥Care Visa Holders Listen up!
Your the indefinite leave to remain may increase to 15 continuous years. Even if you are already in the UK.

The Home Office has proposed a radical "Earned Settlement" system that could change the path to permanent residence. The baseline time for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) is proposed to increase from 5 years to 15 years even for those in the UK!

Key Proposals to Know:
-The New Baseline: The standard 5-year route could become a 15 year path for care workers.
-⚠️ Health & Care Workers: The government is specifically consulting on increasing the baseline to 15 years for those in lower-skilled roles (like Care Workers) due to lower fiscal contribution.

🚨 Major UK Immigration Shake-Up Alert! 🚨
The Home Office has proposed a radical "Earned Settlement" system that could change the path to permanent residence. The baseline time for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) is proposed to increase from 5 years to 10 or even 15 years!

Key Proposals to Know:
-The New Baseline: The standard 5-year route could become a 10-15 year path for many.
-⚠️ Health & Care Workers: The government is specifically consulting on increasing the baseline to 15 years for those in lower-skilled roles (like Care Workers) due to lower fiscal contribution.
-The Good News (Incentives): You can reduce the wait by 5-7 years for being a high earner (over £50k/£125k for 3 years), or by 5 years for Public Service work.
-The Strict Rules (Penalties): Claiming benefits for over 12 months or overstaying visas could add 10-20 years to your wait time.
-Dependants: Spouses and children may no longer settle automatically with the main applicant.
-Benefits Access: Even after getting settlement, the "No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF)" condition may remain in place.

This is a consultation until February 12, 2026, but the direction is clear. These changes will impact thousands of migrants, including Health & Care workers and those on skilled worker visas.

🚨 BREAKING UK Immigration News: Earned Settlement Reform Incoming! 🇬🇧📢

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has officially stated in Parliament that the consultation on the UK’s new “earned settlement” route will be released very shortly later this week.

This consultation will propose a “contribution-based settlement model,” reportedly inspired by Denmark's system, designed to make settlement tougher and more selective.

What the Consultation Will Shape:
Who can settle in the UK: The criteria for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).
Settlement Pathways: The length of time required for long-term status.
Contribution Requirements: How work, taxes, English level, and integration will be assessed.

Proposed Key Changes for Migrants and Families:
Longer Waiting Period: Migrants may need to live at least 10 years before applying for settlement, up from the current 5 years for most routes.
Contribution Mandate: Only those who work, pay National Insurance (NI), speak English well and remain crime-free could qualify.
Faster Settlement for High Contributors: Those who contribute more could potentially earn faster settlement, while those who break rules might lose the chance entirely.

This is part of a wider move to “reduce pull factors,” tighten illegal working checks and ensure only those who contribute can stay long-term.
The consultation will open soon and it could fundamentally change the path to Indefinite Leave to Remain for thousands.

Massive changes are coming, don't wait to find out after it’s too late.
