Trans Day of Remembrance takes place on 20 November and is an important day to honour members of the trans community who have lost their lives as a result of transphobia.

To show our support for trans inclusion, PRISM, our employee-led LGBTQ+ and allies network hosted a virtual session today with Galop, a charity dedicated to LGBTQ+ people who are victims of abuse and violence. In this session, Galop informed us about the abuse trans and gender-diverse people experience in the UK and what we can do to support them in the workplace.

Each year, 23 September marks Bi Visibility Day. This day is an opportunity to raise awareness of the specific challenges faced by bi members of the LGBTQ+ community. It is also an opportunity to celebrate bi identities and recognise those who identify as bi.

Resources can be found on our website on how to be an effective ally to the LGBTQ+ communities, with a reminder that being an ally to colleagues and friends who identify as bi include: not making assumptions, being careful about confidentiality, being aware and understanding the issues that bi people face, and challenging biphobia in order to further the inclusion of the bi community.

You can find more information about PRISM, our LGBTQ+ employee network, and how to be an effective LGBTQ+ ally at https://www.slaughterandmay.com/our-firm/our-culture-and-values/employee-networks/prism/.
