I hope your weekend was filled with joy!

My talk at the DCA Good Divorce Support Week Conference last Thursday couldn't have been more timely, especially with the amendments to the Family Procedure Rules set to take effect tomorrow (29 April). These changes reinforce the importance of seeking resolutions away from court wherever feasible and suitable.

The aim of my presentation was to:

* explain why avoiding court litigation can be beneficial for those going through separation and divorce,
* why the use of non-court dispute resolution (NCDR) has become more important than ever and
* to give an understanding of the array of available non-court options

With this knowledge, I hope those facing divorce feel more empowered to make informed decisions, giving them greater control over both the process and the outcome of their divorce.
