Monaco Solicitors We help employees to achieve fair deals when leaving their employment after a redundancy or dispute. This is mainly through negotiation but also tribunals.

Experiencing the same workplace issue as your colleagues? You may not have to deal with it separately.

When several employees have similar claims against the same employer, their cases may be managed together. Consistent accounts can also help show that what happened wasn’t just an isolated incident.

There can be practical benefits too, especially when an employer is facing several similar complaints or claims at once.

If you know your colleagues have experienced similar treatment, it may be worth understanding your options before deciding what to do next.

Get in touch with our employment law team to discuss where you stand.

Employment Tribunal time limits are changing from 1 October 2026. Here’s what you need to know 👇

• Most claims will move from 3 months to 6 months
• The change isn’t backdated
• If the issue happened before 1 October, the 3-month limit may still apply
• For unfair dismissal, it’s normally your last day of employment that counts
• Ongoing issues that cross 1 October can be more complicated
• You’ll still need to contact Acas before bringing most claims

Don’t assume you automatically have 6 months - the dates of your case matter.

Not sure which deadline applies to you? Get in touch with our team for advice.

Employer gone into administration while you’re still owed money? There may still be a way to claim it.

Certain unpaid wages, holiday pay, notice pay and redundancy pay can potentially be claimed through the Insolvency Service.

Don’t assume the money is automatically lost - check what you’re entitled to claim and act promptly.

Leaving a job with unused holiday? You could be owed money for it. 💷

Your final pay should account for holiday you’ve built up but haven’t taken. If the numbers don’t look right, ask your employer for a breakdown.

Being encouraged to resign instead of going through redundancy? Think carefully before agreeing.

Resigning can affect your redundancy pay, notice pay and other rights you may have through a formal redundancy process.

Before making a decision, get the situation in writing and understand what you could be giving up.

Working through an umbrella company?

Your payslip should make it clear how your pay has been calculated and what’s been deducted.

If the figures don’t add up, or you can’t see how your holiday pay, fees or deductions have been worked out, ask for a full breakdown in writing.

Employment Tribunal claims can take time.

After a claim is submitted, there may be months of case management, evidence exchange and waiting before a final hearing takes place. That’s also one reason why some disputes settle before reaching that stage.

If you’re considering a claim and want to understand what the process could look like, get in touch with our team.

There might be a lot more on your employee file than you realise.

If things at work start getting messy, asking to see the data your employer holds about you can be useful.

Sometimes the paper trail tells you a lot.

Not sure what you’re entitled to access? Get in touch with us.

Dismissed with immediate effect? You may still be owed notice pay.

Check your contract, the reason for dismissal and whether payment in lieu of notice should apply. If nothing has been paid or explained, ask for the reason in writing.

Think your notice pay has been withheld unfairly? Get in touch with us.

Another probation extension can leave you wondering where you actually stand.

The key thing is whether your employer is giving you a fair chance to meet clear expectations, or simply delaying a decision without proper explanation.

If the process feels unclear or you’re unsure what your rights are, getting advice early can help you understand your options.
