Getting a professional to help you with your contracts and other legal documents will ensure that requirements specific to your business and industry have been covered, your interests are protected and that risks are mitigated.

Hi everyone! With today being we thought we’d share a little bit about The DLC’s adopted charity of the year, Mayhew 🐱 🐶

Mayhew are an animal welfare charity improving the lives of cats, dogs and our community. More than just a rescue and rehoming centre, Mayhew provides a range of initiatives to help dogs, cats and communities in the UK and internationally.

This year Mayhew are running an Easter Pet Food Drive, where you can donate food, accessories, and enrichment toys. As we all know, with the current cost of living crisis, many pet owners are struggling to care for their pets and some have even been compelled to abandon them. The Easter Pet Food Drive is just a small way in which we can help pets, shelters, and pet owners to survive a difficult period.

At The DLC we will be doing our best to support Mayhew, and our team would really appreciate anything you can do to help.

Steps to Donate:

Influencer partnerships are a popular part of marketing strategies across various industries and like with any partnership, brands and influencers should have a written agreement in place outlining the relationship terms. Amongst other things the terms should cover the type of content being created, timelines on deliverables, content guidelines and requirements, contract duration, terms of payment (be that a fee or paid in kind), intellectual property and a termination and morality clause.

In this post we focus on intellectual property and usage terms.

Even if the content has been created at the request of the brand, the brand does not automatically own the rights to it. Each negotiation navigating usage and copyrights will be unique but should always include clauses that define ownership, duration, and placement of content. Consider documenting the terms, requirements, and obligations of each party in a written Collaboration Agreement before the work is produced to avoid any future surprises.
