15 years PQE 🥳

I qualified as a solicitor on 15 July 2011.

Opened a law firm with my boss in 2016.

Moved on and joined several city law firms.

Became self employed in 2020.

Became a mother in 2021.

Founded a specialist family law firm in 2025.

Over the years, I’ve come to understand what truly matters to me. I’ve made choices that allow me to live my values every day rather than simply believe in them. It’s taken years to reach that realisation, but it’s shaped the way I choose to live my life and how I represent my clients. 💕

Living together but not married? This might surprise you 👇🏽

When married couples divorce, they can make claims against marital and non-marital assets — including pensions, property, inheritance (in some cases), and claim for spousal maintenance.

But if you separate as an unmarried couple, those automatic rights simply don’t apply.

This means:
• No automatic right to property (unless it’s jointly owned and even then it gets complicated)
• No claim to your partner’s pension
• No entitlement to spousal maintenance

This can leave you in a much weaker financial position after a breakup.🍃

And if you have children, it can also affect their housing and overall stability.

It’s not always something people realise — so it’s worth understanding your position early on by speaking to a family lawyer at the start of a new relationship👩🏽‍💼
