Partner Sylvie Gallage-Alwis was recently interviewed about how Signature Litigation Paris, and more specifically her Product Litigation practice, represent manufacturers in complex litigation & investigations launched against them by consumers and regulators.

Sylvie discusses her role in supporting manufacturers as they navigate an evolving regulatory landscape, advising them on compliance and practical implementation. Why is France always at the forefront of regulation? What are the different litigation tools that claimants can use against manufacturers? How are asbestos-litigation tactics now used in other fields, such as PFAS, air pollution, pharma cases? How can manufacturers get ready and anticipate litigation?

Partner Kate Gee and Senior Associate Oliver Steeple examine the Financial Reporting Council’s final revisions to two core UK auditing standards on fraud and going concern, in their latest article in Thomson Reuters Regulatory Intelligence.

Kate and Oliver discuss the updates to two "front-line" standards, ISA (UK) 240, which strengthen auditors’ responsibilities and fraud risk-assessment procedures, and ISA (UK) 570, which reinforces how auditors assess and report on going concern.

Their article also considers the potential implications for audit negligence litigation, including scope of duty, causation, disclosure and how the revised standards may shape judicial and public expectations in litigation arising out of a corporate collapse.

Partner Sylvie Gallage-Alwis and Associate Nicolas Ndiour examine the UFC-Que Choisir's (now Que Choisir Ensemble) newly launched platform, Que Choisir Réclamations, which enables consumers to raise a complaint directly with a business.

In their article, Sylvie and Nicolas note that the platform allows companies to protect themselves against future disputes, however they caution that companies in France should remain vigilant.

Sylvie and Nicolas predict that the new platform is likely to increase the volume of complaints sent to companies because it is easy to use and free of charge initially.

Partner Ela Barda and Associate Myriam Benazza's latest article discusses the EU AI Act imposing transparency obligations for companies using generative AI, effective from 2 August 2026.

Whilst Article 50 establishes these new obligations in general terms, translating them into concrete technical and organisational measures requires further guidance. Ela and Myriam note that the AI Office’s Transparency Code of Practice aims to bridge that gap by offering stakeholders an actionable compliance playbook.

For online platforms navigating an already dense regulatory stack, however, the Code also raises new questions.

Partner Ela Barda recently commented and provided top tips to comply with the EU AI Act's transparency requirements in Compliance Week.

The EU's recent publication of this updated code of practice is designed to help companies interpret the AI Act's transparency obligations, which highlights the challenges organisations encounter when attempting to comply with regulations that are widely expected to be rigorously enforced.

Ela notes that the code "adds a new compliance layer on top of an already dense regulatory stack".
