Dealing with someone with narcissistic behaviours in family court can feel exhausting and isolating.
The court is unlikely to label someone with a personality disorder - instead, they look for patterns of behaviour over time. That’s why keeping clear records and evidence is so important. Save messages, emails, missed arrangements, inconsistencies, and anything that shows repeated behaviour rather than isolated incidents.
Try not to get drawn into emotional arguments or endless negotiations. Keep communication factual, calm, and child-focused wherever possible. High-conflict individuals often rely on emotional reactions, confusion, and manipulation - staying grounded and organised can make a huge difference.
Most importantly, protect your peace, seek support, and remember that consistency and documentation matter more than reacting in the moment.
