Can I speak to a human please?
Every innovation or ‘improvement’ today seems to involve removing the human element from the system. From QR codes in restaurants, to self checkouts to chatbots in customer service.
It's almost as if the powers that be don’t want us talking to one another anymore. I dare not develop that idea any further except to say we must reject it. Why do you think so many of our younger generation developed personality and anxiety problems during lockdown and why so many of our elderly died? Loneliness!
God, that was a bit dark.
However, it is my deeply held conviction that we, the human race, thrive through interaction and interpersonal relationships. Discourse, discussion, even argument. That is why I always advocate that it’s better to talk than text and that one conversation is worth a hundred WhatsApps.
Consulting on selling a clients home or advising on their purchase is a relationship of layers and trust. I set up Jason North Property Consultants because I felt people actually want and enjoy the process of dealing with another person when they feel that person empathises with their needs. My clients get it!
Try telling that to the next AI, Hal-wanna be, customer services drone you speak to.
