Pride Month kicks off today! 🌈

The legislation for same-sex marriage was enacted at different times throughout the United Kingdom, with England and Wales leading the way over a decade ago, followed by Scotland and Northern Ireland.

This progress ensures that everyone is treated equally under the law. 💕

All our offices are conveniently located for the community and Newton-Le-Willows is no exception.

Located on the lively main road, it's right next door to New Wave Physio & Fitness, and the road itself is full of bars, cafes and restaurants.

Newton-le-Willows is famously associated with the birth of modern rail travel, having been part of the original Liverpool and Manchester Railway route, and the Station is a short walk away, as High Street becomes Church Street, upon reaching St Peter's.

Completed in 1901, the Grade II listed Anglian Church is hewn from Sandstone, like many of the historic buildings in the area.

So if you are coming to visit us, why not take the time to explore a little more?

Our main office is in Leigh and there's so much to love about this town!

Today, we visited the indoor market and treated ourselves to some delicious pies. With such an amazing variety available, choosing was a challenge. In the end we opted for one each from Hotchix BBQ Leigh Market and The Bakers Dozen Leigh Market Hall p22-23.

There's lot of fresh produce too, and some amazing looking cakes including the largest Eclairs we've ever seen!

We may have to go back and get some more. 😋

We love highlighting the best spots in our area, and just down the road from our Culcheth Office is Partridge Lakes Fishery.

As well as the fishery, they have a superb lakeside café, Partridge Lakes Cafe, with a cozy heated log cabin and excellent food.

They also host a wide variety of events throughout the year, with Cheshire Wellness Festival and a fun 90's summer party coming up!

With warm weather on the horizon, we're definitely keeping an eye on those pedalos... 🚣‍♂️

We've popped their Website in the comments so you can find out more.

Family Court Service Changes

The Family Court is undergoing significant changes to improve services for children and families. Some of the key updates include:-

1. Child Focused Courts: A new model that will be rolled out across England and Wales, aiming to resolve cases more quickly and protect children from further trauma.

2. Financial Remedy Hearings: Changes to the allocation of sitting days for financial remedy hearings which may cause difficulties for families and legal professionals.

3. Government Initiatives: The Government is working on various initiatives to reduce delays and improve the experiences of vulnerable Court users.

The above changes are part of a broader effort to modernise the Family Court and ensure that it serves families more effectively and compassionately.

It's International Tea Day, and yes it might sound odd but below we'll tell you all about the Nation's favourite hot drink, and why the day is marked.

We conducted a poll among our staff to find out their preferred types of tea—check out the results above (and we won’t dive into the fruit tea debate 😁). We'd love to hear about your favorites too!

Here are some facts about Tea and International Tea Day:

According to legend, Emperor Shen Nung discovered tea in 2732 BC when wild leaves blew into his pot of boiling water.

Tea reached Europe in the 16th century but was initially an expensive luxury, particularly in England, where it was often stored in small, locked chests.

Black, green, white, oolong, and pu-erh teas all come from Camellia sinensis. The difference in colour and flavour depends on how the leaves are processed and oxidized.

While Britain is famous for tea, the highest per capita consumption is in Turkey.

Tea bags were invented by accident in 1904 when a tea merchant sent samples in silk pouches that customers dunked, rather than cutting them open.

The day is to raise awareness of tea's long history and cultural significance, as well as to advocate for better working conditions and sustainable livelihoods for tea farmers.

The UN General Assembly designated this day on 21st December 2019 with the first official UN observance in 2020.

Tea is the world's most consumed drink after water and a crucial cash crop for many developing countries.

We hope you found that interesting and we're off to brew up! 🍵

When our team at the Culcheth office takes a break from their desks during lunch, they love heading over to Cafe Piccino in the village! 🥗✨

Since opening in 2020 during the pandemic, this spot has been a fantastic addition to our community. The food is delicious and the service is top-notch—definitely a favourite among our staff! 🍽️❤️

It's International Museum day and many Museums and Galleries have permanent collections that are free to access.

Wigan Museum, run by Wigan Council, holds over 30,000 objects relating to life in Wigan Borough, past and present. Collections include fine art, archaeology, social history, natural history, coins, decorative art and industrial history. The story of local people can be told through everyday objects like Roman pottery or 16th century pewter ware, alongside 19th century Blackpool holiday souvenirs to a German helmet from the First World War.

Warrington Museum & Art Gallery has just short of 200,000 objects covering a wide range of subjects such as Archaeology, Art, Ethnology, Natural History, Photography and Social History. While the majority of the collections relate to Warrington and the surrounding areas, some of the items are undoubtedly of national significance.

Half-term is coming and both have extra exhibitions and activities over that time, so why not check them out and give them a visit?
