Happy Birthday to us today. 14 years of business. Happy to say we are busier than we have ever been. A big thankyou to all our customers past and present for helping us get this far.

Is there anybody out there just left school 17/18/19 year old looking for extra income or maybe an apprenticeship. Have you got a drive to repair things, have a reasonable DIY knowledge?
If yes you maybe what we are looking for.
Basic knowledge of electrics, can you change a plug socket?
Basic plumbing could you change a tap?
Can you paint or decorate?
Familiar with using basic tools, hammer, screwdriver etc.
If this is you then get in contact.
We do prefer someone to initially join us on a self employed basis to start with with the possibility of becoming a full time employee for the right candidate. We will show you how to become self employed if you are not sure what to do.
The majority of our work is within the care home sector so you will need to be polite and caring.
We are a family run business and if you are keen then we are very keen to teach you every trade we do to help you progress your skills.
After you are familiar with our workplaces and are comfortable we will expect occasionally for you to work alone on certain jobs.
We do require you to be able to drive and have own transport.

Well we have finally finished for the festive season. It's been a strange year to say the least. We have battled on throughout the whole pandemic and at times it's been extremely tough. We have been mainly on the frontline of covid with our day to day maintenance of seven care homes and sadly seen familiar faces with us one day and gone the next.
Recently we have took on a young lad who we hope to teach many of our trade skills to and one day to be an asset to our business.
Well done Billy, it must be daunting for you to come into our field of work with the constant threat of covid and try and learn at the same time, plus put up with both of our sense of humours hahaha. Keep up the good work 👏.
Finally we would like to wish all our customers past and present especially all our good friends at Midlands Care a very Merry Christmas an Happy New Year.
Stay well and stay safe and fingers crossed more normality for 2021.

Have you found yourself at a loose end during the current covid crisis? If so maybe we can help.
A & S fix it Wright are an established family run property maintenance company looking for someone to assist with our expanding workload.

We are initially looking for a part time worker with potential of full time for the right candidate who is or is willing to register as self employed, and ideally Leicester based. General handyman skills such as painting and decorating, basic plumbing & electrical knowledge are the basic requirements.

Ideally we would require someone who can work unattended where required so they would need to have their own form of transport.
A calm, understanding and professional attitude is essential as the majority of work will be general maintenance in various care homes and mixing with vulnerable adults.
Rate of pay is negotiable depending on experience.

Busy week for us last week. We transformed the dining area of one of the care homes we look after then we moved onto the lounge and re decorated it. Then we finished off with a weekend job at the local school replacing rotten and damaged sink worktops. In toilet areas. Now onto the next home to re decorate.

While at one of the care homes today that we look after we got asked if we could do anything with the gas meter cupboard. We agreed it needed a bit of TLC so this is what we came up with. A slight improvement we think.

Its been back to school for us today to turn classrooms previously in scuffed up magnolia paint to a new grey theme. (Apologies as forgot to take before pics but it was desperate for a makeover)

After previously fitting outside sinks at a local school for children to keep up with the hand washing they proved really successful. We were back yesterday fitting more sinks and more ordered to be fitted during the summer holidays.

This week has been a week of decorating residents rooms at the care homes, giving them a freshen up with feature walls. Today we brightened up the conservatory at one of the homes to give the residents a nicer place to sit and relax.

Apart from our daily routine of battling covid-19 in care homes we have spent the weekend installing outside sinks in various parts of the building for a local primary school so the children can keep washing hands to keep the virus at bay.
