Katherine Flashman Kitson won Legal Leader of the Year Award at the Cornwall Law Society - CLS Awards at Truro Cathedral last year.
Katherine Flashman Kitson says “I honestly could not believe I won this Award and was so honoured to receive it. To be honest, reading what members of my firm had said about me, in the nomination was enough reward for me. To have the respect of those with whom I work, means everything, and moved me to tears. The Award was a further bonus. People lead in different ways and there are no rules from textbooks or otherwise. I hope I lead by insight, understanding and collaboration and also motivation. But what works one day, will not work the next day, so it is like a wobble board at times.
The Awards Ceremony is coming up again and I wish all those nominated for Leader the very best of luck, and hope that their leadership is rewarded as mine was, and that it is a great night. Last year was the very best night, not just because of the Awards, not just because it was in a beautiful place, the Cathedral, which was decorated beautifully, not just because of the lovely food and drink, but because people united in a common cause, to celebrate their work, to celebrate the profession, to celebrate each other. That made it a very great night indeed”
