MacAllister McAleese renewed its support for Business Beats Cancer Belfast / Northern Ireland this year, returning as an event partner for the annual quiz night at the Haymarket in Belfast.

The quiz is now in its fifth year and brings businesses from across Northern Ireland together to test their general knowledge and compete for bragging rights against their peers.

As well as having been an event partner for the last number of years, director David McAleese has been a member of the charity’s board since early 2022 and was delighted to see such a great turn-out yet again, showing the generosity and competitive nature of our local businesses.

As well as being a great night of fun and socialising, this is an important event in the charity’s annual calendar and last night raised over £14,000.00 for cancer research work carried out here in Northern Ireland.

David has declined to comment on whether his team finished in the top ten or not but says there is always next year! 👀🤭

We recently secured £70,000 in damages for a client who was seriously injured after being forced to take an evasive manoeuvre when a bus cut across his path while he was cycling on the A8 outside Larne.

MacAllister McAleese was delighted to again support Wooden Spoon Charity Ulster Region at their “Ulster and Ireland Heroes” dinner at Hastings Europa Hotel last night.

Having supported the charity’s events since the practice began in 2020, our director David McAleese has also been on the Ulster board of Wooden Spoon since early 2024 and has assisted with organisation of events including the “Million Pound Lunch” and yesterday’s event, which brought local heroes Rory Best and Stuart McCloskey and Ulster Rugby head coach Richie Murphy to the Europa to face questions and wit from compere Jim Neilly.

As well as music, entertainment and an insightful Q&A with the special guests, attendees heard from James Curran, Principal of Harberton School, on some of the projects that Wooden Spoon has been able to help with over the years, and a personal keynote from the President of the charity in Ulster, Willie John McBride CBE.

It was fantastic to see a packed room at the Europa Hotel and to raise much needed funds for the charity. All donations are distributed across a range of projects to help children across Ulster develop in education, sport or social settings and provide facilities for those most in need.

We look forward to the next Wooden Spoon event soon! 🏉
