Being a specialist in Equine Disputes isnt a trend I thought I would jump on.. its my life. I have been an equestrian since I was 18months old.

You might say I know what im talking about when it comes to horses.

I post a lot of "lovely moments" and pictures with my horses but ive also learnt to really listen to my horse and also to me.

This weekend one tiny moment on the yard meant my horse was anxious and on edge. Hes an ex racehorse and only knows how to ruuuuun. With me clinging on for dear life. I had his tack in my arms and I watched and listened to him. He wasnt happy.. so i walked back into the tack room, put the tack away and simply spent time with him to calm him down.

Building that relationship and listening is so important. It's not worth me being seriously injured.. or my horse, or others.
He calmed down and stuck his tongue out at me.. order is resumed.

Thinking of loaning your horse out... or taking one on loan yourself?

Before that horse leaves the yard, you need a proper loan agreement.

Here's what it needs to cover:

📋 Who pays the vet bills
📋 Who holds the insurance
📋 What happens if the horse is injured or passes away
📋 What the return conditions are

No agreement means no protection... for either party. Verbal promises don't hold up when things go wrong, especially in equine law.

Our founder had a morning off midweek to spend time on her passion... riding her horses. So when a client needed a Saturday slot that worked better for them, that also worked for us.

Our founder Sophie specialises in equine law because it sits right at the crossroads of two things she knows a lot about: animals and the law, and horse purchase disputes are one of the most common calls we get.

If the horse wasn't as described, vetting was skipped or misleading, or you were told something that turned out not to be true, you may have a misrepresentation claim.

It's not always straightforward, but it's also not something you have to sort out alone.
