This morning I tacked my horse up, hacked out for an hour, and cleared my head before starting work.

No one shouted at me for being late. No one clocked me in. No one sent a passive-aggressive email about my diary.

I just... went riding.

And then I came home, made a drink, and got on with it.

This is what Law by Sophie is built on. The belief that you can do excellent legal work and still have a life. That flexibility isn't a perk, it's the point.

Our founder Sophie had a conversation this week that reminded her why she does this work.

A potential client rang about what they thought was a massive legal problem. Turns out, after talking it through, they didn't need a solicitor at all just some practical guidance and reassurance about their rights.

Did Sophie take the case anyway? No.
Did she signpost them to the right resources and send them on their way feeling clearer? Absolutely.

This is what legal support should look like. Not every conversation needs to turn into a client. Not every concern requires formal proceedings. Sometimes people just need someone who knows the law to tell them straight: you're fine, here's why, and here's what to do next.

Our founder Sophie met with Roger a representative from the CLA the Country Land and Business Association one of the UK's most established membership organisations, representing over 28,000 rural landowners, farmers, estates, and rural businesses across England and Wales.

They shared roots in farming, a real understanding of rural life, and a genuine alignment on where both organisations are headed.

The CLA's members already face complex legal questions around grazing licences, land management, and rural property and Sophie's specialist knowledge is exactly the kind of support that the community deserves.

Our founder Sophie has always believed that when you come across something worth sharing, you share it - no question.

After her recent skydive, Sophie got chatting to a gentleman called Tullis, the founder of a charity called Nature's SAFE.

Nature's SAFE is a wildlife cryo-biobank, Europe's leading one, preserving live cells and tissues from animals threatened with extinction. They work with zoos, wildlife parks and conservation organisations across the UK, and have now preserved samples from over 387 different species. They've even been nominated for the Earth shot Prize!

All of this is run as a charity, funded entirely by donations.

There are over 18,000 animal species currently at risk of extinction. What Tullis and his team are doing is genuinely extraordinary.

Sophie is someone who cares deeply about animals; it's woven into who she is, not just what she does. So when she meets someone dedicating their life to protecting them, she wants as many people as possible to know about it.

This weekend, our founder Sophie...for the second time has jumped out of a plane!

Law by Sophie supports The Genies Wish actively and believes wholeheartedly in the important work that the charity does for beneficiaries.

The Genie's Wish works tirelessly to grant wishes to seriously ill children and young people aged 0-40, and Law by Sophie is proud to play a small part in supporting that.

Sophie has always been someone who shows up for the things she believes in, and supporting Genie's Wish is no different. There are some truly incredible people out there doing good in the world, and we think it's so important to get behind them.

Our founder Sophie says one of the most rewarding parts of her work is meeting people right at the start of their journey when they're not sure what they need, or even if they need anything at all.

Just two people talking through what's going on and what might help.

Our founder Sophie had a lovely conversation last week with someone who kept apologising for asking 'silly questions.'

There are no silly questions. If something matters to you, it matters. Full stop.

She's noticed that people often hesitate to reach out because they're worried their issue isn't 'serious enough' or they don't know the proper legal terminology. But that's exactly why she's here to translate the complicated stuff and help people feel confident about their next steps.
