Experienced Residential Conveyancers wanted
Due to an expansion within the department we are seeking to recruit 2 experienced Residential Conveyancers for our Hull & Withernsea offices.

You will:
Manage your own caseload of residential conveyancing matters.
Provide excellent client care.
See files through from start to finish.
Liaise with all parties to ensure the timely progression of conveyancing matters.
Review and draft legal documents.
Conduct searches, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.
Identify and manage potential risks and issues.
Provide appropriate solutions to safeguard clients' interests.
Keep abreast of changes in conveyancing law and practice, ensuring continuous professional development and compliance with SRA requirements.
Work to the CQS standard.
Ideally have experience in the use of case management systems and Microsoft Office software, however training will be provided.

Comprehensive knowledge of conveyancing law, procedures, and regulations.
A proven track record of managing a varied caseload.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Organisational and time management skills, and be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Vacancy - 2 Experienced Family Secretaries

Due to internal promotion we are looking for 2 full time Experienced Family Secretaries to join our Family department in our Hull office.

Your duties will include:
Typing (including transcribing audio dictation) of correspondence, file notes, statements, briefs to Counsel, court applications, financial documents, e-mails, and all other documents;
Liaising with courts, other Solicitors, local authorities via telephone and email;
Liaising with clients face to face, over the telephone and via email;
Booking meeting rooms, arranging travel, organising appointments and any other administrative tasks to support the Family department;

You will:
Have the ability to handle simultaneous tasks
Be able to meet court deadlines.
Be proactive and self-motivated.

The government will be carrying out a national test of the UK Emergency Alerts system on 7 September 2025 at 3pm.

The test alert will be sent to all compatible 4G and 5G mobile phones and compatible tablets across the UK.

This follows the first successful national test in April 2023.

When you receive the message, your phone or tablet may vibrate and make a loud siren-like sound for about ten seconds, even if it is set on ‘silent’. The message will appear on your screen.

We are a friendly and professional law firm and we are looking for a reliable and motivated Audio Typist to join our team. The ideal candidate will preferably possess an understanding of legal terminology and procedures. This is a full-time position with varied duties, offering the opportunity to be an important part of our client-facing team.

Key Responsibilities
• Transcribing legal documents and correspondence accurately from audio dictation
• Ensuring all work is produced to a high professional standard, with impeccable spelling and grammar
• Preparing, formatting, and proof-reading legal documents, forms, and letters
• Managing diaries, arranging appointments, and maintaining schedules for fee earners
• Handling incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner
• Meeting and greeting clients in person, ensuring they receive a warm and helpful welcome
• Maintaining and organising client files (both paper and electronic) in accordance with office procedures
• Opening and closing files, conducting conflict checks, and ensuring compliance with AML and regulatory requirements
• Liaising with clients, solicitors, and third parties by phone, email, and in writing

About You
• Previous experience as a legal secretary or audio typist, ideally within conveyancing or private client law
• Excellent spelling, grammar, and proof-reading skills
• Strong typing skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Confident and professional telephone manner with excellent client care skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems (experience desirable but not essential as training will be provided)
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workload
• Friendly, approachable, and able to work well as part of a team
