🏡 Big news for first-time buyers!

This weekend the government announced a new scheme called Your First Home. If it goes ahead as planned, first-time buyers in England could buy a new-build home with a deposit of just 2.5%.

Here's how it's expected to work:
✔️ You put down a 2.5% deposit
✔️ The government lends you up to 20% as an equity loan, interest-free for an initial period
✔️ The rest comes from a normal mortgage

A few things worth knowing before you get too excited:
👉 It's for new-build homes only, from developers signed up to the scheme
👉 There'll be income limits and price caps – we don't know the figures yet
👉 Nothing is confirmed until the Budget next month
👉 The equity loan isn't free money. It has to be paid back, and interest will be charged once the interest-free period ends
